Tarakashi is a form of silver filigree craft practised in parts of India. This particular style is derived from the one found in the city of Cuttack, in the state of Odisha. The process is painstakingly time-consuming, intricate and requires precision at each step. To demonstrate its beauty and tediousness, I created a flipbook that fills out just like a filigree pattern as the pages go by.

Created as part of a Craft Cluster Documentation project
on the silver filigree Tarakashi from the state of Odisha, India.

This flipbook is inspired by the lotus motif prevalent in the craft.
